This saturday will mark 1 month that I have been home from school.
I cannot believe that it has already been an entire month!!
It has been a crazy, busy start to summer but I am loving every minute of it.
I ran my first 5K with my big sister Shannon. It was SO much fun. It feels so good to get into shape and have someone to go run races with. We ran the Friar Trot in Sherwood and it was fantastic. I loved spending the time with my sister and cannot wait to do our next race. Our next goal is a 10K which we are hoping to do within the next month.
Since I got home I have been working at Sheldon Pool teaching swiming lessons and subbing for lifeguards. It felt so nice to jump right back into work and have something to do. I love knowing that I get to go to the pool everyday! Sometimes I get tired of teaching lessons and being in the pool for multiple hours at a time, but I wouldn't trade it for the world! The little kids I teach are absolutely hilarious and crack me up everyday. Yesterday I told my kids they were going to do dolphin kick and I was explaining to my little girls that I wanted them to swim like mermaids. One little girl said, " I know, I know! that's my favorite kick!" I smiled and said ok go. Well she starts and all I see is her little head bobbing back and forth and the kickboard smacking the water as her legs stayed in one spot. I got her attention and she figured out she had to kick her legs, but it was hilarious. I could not stop laughing. The people at the pool are great too. Everyone is happy and works well together and it makes coming to work so much better!
Starting in June I will be moving out to the Veneta Pool and working there. I am SOO excited we finally have a pool again and cannot wait to work there. It is going to be a blast! They are almost done with it and it is looking fantastic!
