quote of the week

I have been staying the week with my sister and her family and last night on our way over to our parent's house my three year old nephew gavin was talking and my sister said something about him making her nervous with his car seat and he replied ," no I don't mommy, I make you happy." About five minutes later he said, "I make mommy soo happy!" It was just about the cutest thing ever!

homeward bound

Well, Finals are over and I officially survived my freshman year and have become a sophomore!
I still cannot believe that I am in college and a sophomore at that!
This year was SO much fun.
I met so many awesome people and made some great friends.
I will definitely miss all those great boys heading out to serve the lord for two years.
I wish them all the best and hope their missions are AWESOME!
Saying goodbye, was no where near being fun, but life is always full of new things and I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life.
I will never forget the people I met and hopefully will get to hangout with them all again next year!
Especially my awesome roommate Kate.
I got so lucky getting to have Kate as a roommate.
I was really worried about coming to BYU and not knowing very many people
But, Kate being the great person that she is made it very easy and I had a blast with her.
I am almost completely packed... just a few bits and pieces here and there that need to be bagged up.
My closet is totally empty now !
My room is full of plastic containers and resuable recycling bags.
The real task will come tomorrow morning when I go to pack it all into my van and then pack dan's stuff in too.
We shall do it! I am sure of it!
If not.. well lets just not go there.
I am going home tomorrow, back to my beautiful oregon!
I am beyond excited.
I cannot wait to get home to my own house and bed and family and my dog.
I will very busy as I am heading back to work in a couple weeks.
I am super excited to get back to work - I love the pool and the kids and having a job will be great to keep me busy.
So as it is my final night I am going to make the best of it.
Thanks BYU for giving me an awesome freshman year, I can't wait to see what next year holds for me!
HAPPY SUMMER

loves

Well finals started today.
Luckily my final schedule isn't too hard!
But, a break from studying is always welcomed.
I tend to take my breaks in the form of catching up on my many TV shows I have.
My two favorites and two I highly recommend though are
1. The Biggest Loser
I had only watched it a couple times here and there before this year, but my roommate and her siblings are really into so I started watching with them.
I am soo glad they are! It has become one of my favorite shows of all times.
Tuesday nights are now "biggest loser nights" and I look forward to them all week long.
It really is inspiring to see these people make a change in their lives and realize that they are worth alot.
It also is inspiring to get me off the couch and exercising!
If you haven't been watching - START!
2. The Amazing Race
I have always LOVED the amazing race.
It is such a fun, exciting show.
You get to see different places throughout the world and the challenges that the contestants have to do are crazy!
I love cheering them on and living vicariously through their ups and downs on the show.
( not that I should be admitting that!)
This season my favorite team is the Cowboys.
AND not just because they are cowboys.. haha. They are the most down to earth team and really work hard at all the challenges. I am rooting for them to go all the way!

April Bloomers

April is the biggest month for birthdays in my family!
We have 7 birthdays!!!
My nephew Tate and my cousin Kara start the month off.
Tate is the baby of the nieces and nephews. He turned 1 yr. on Saturday April 3rd.
I feel like I don't know him, he is getting the hang of walking and looks so much bigger than the last time I saw him even though he is still super super tiny!!
I don't have any recent photos of him.. but hopefully I will get a lot when I go home for the summer!

My sister Stephani's birthday was yesterday.
I love her sooo much! She is such an awesome sister, mom, and best friend.
I love going up to Corvallis and having "date nights" with her.
She has been such a great example to me and I am soo thankful that I can call her my sister and that I get to spend eternity with her.

Tomorrow Wednesday April 7 is my Grandpa Rolland's Birthday.
I love him so very much!
He is a very hard worker and is always doing something to help other people.
Because of his hard work we have our beautiful lake house that has provided us with so many fun family memories.
Happy Birthday Grandpa ~ You are AWESOME!

Friday is not only my special day but also my nephew Gavin's special day!
He was born on my 16 birthday.
I was so excited, I had my parents check me out of school so that I could go to the hospital to see him.
He is just the cutest little boy and I love him to death.
I am so lucky to be able to share my birthday with my awesome little man!

My Uncle Gayle finishes of our family birthdays on the 21st.
I love my family so much ~ they mean everything to me and I am sad that I couldn't/ can't be there to celebrate their birthdays with them this year. I hope that they had super duper birthdays because they are all super duper people!!

Easter

Easter is one of my favorite holidays for many reasons.
First, and Foremost, I love Easter because it is the celebration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rising from the dead. It brings a message of hope, and light, and truth.
This Easter we get the pleasure of having our Bi-Annual General Conference on the same weekend. I am so excited to listen to the messages that our prophet and apostles have for us on this Easter Sunday. General Conference is always amazing and I am so beyond thrilled that we get to have it twice a year!!
The leaders of our church are amazing men and it is a wonderful blessing to be able to hear their words of advice and encouragement and love. Sunday is always the best too because we get to listen to the Tabernacle Choir and feel their spirit!
This Easter is a little, well a lot, different for me this year.
It is my first Easter away from my immediate family.
It is also my very first WHITE Easter. Yep, I woke up and looked out the window this morning and there is was... SNOW!! I am going to miss spending Easter Sunday watching conference with my family and then having an Easter egg hunt and having another awesome family dinner. I love getting to watch the little kids race around to find eggs and talking with my sisters while we watch. I am lucky enough to have great extended family and get to spend Easter with them this afternoon.
