My Bad!

I have to say I have been awful about keeping up with my blog - my bad! Summer has been crazy so far and I don't have a ton of time. Today is my last real day off and so I figured I would treat myself to a blogpost or two. Life is going good in general. I am working ALOT and trying to squeeze in some fun, here and there. I feel like summer is halfway over already and I haven't done any of the things I wanted to do yet! Some of the things I am working on  right now / want to work on are :
1. Working with my llama.
I have had llamas since I was in middle school. I wanted a horse and my mom came home with a llama, I'm not really sure how that worked out, but it did. Right now we have three. My baby, Frankie, is an brat to put it nicely. He has had bad experiences with halters in the past so he doesn't have one right now and hates me touching it nose. So, I am working on overcoming my fear of him and getting a halter on him. Today i was able to kneel in the field and pet him and put a lead rope around his neck, which is a HUGE improvement. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can get a halter on him.

2. Learn to swim butterfly
This summer I really, really want to learn how to swim butterfly correctly and become decent at it. I have to teach it for swimming lessons and I always hate it, because I don't feel comfortable demonstrating it to my students. But, I am going to work on it and my goal is to be able to swim a 50 butterfly by the end of the summer!
3. Scrapbook
When I was in middle school, I was really good about scrapbooking and documenting all of my activities. I have fallen off the bandwagon, but I am trying to get back on. I have so many photos from highschool and my freshman year and I would love to put them all in a scrapbook.
4. Read
I love to read! Since I have been home I have read a couple of my old books and it has been great. Laying outside on the tramp with a book or curling up on the couch with a book is one of my favorite activities. I need to go book shopping and stock up!

Those are just some of the things I want to work on this summer. Some things I'm looking forward too are my best friends summer pool party which is TODAY!! yay. I am hoping Mr. Sun decides to come out and play or else I am not getting in the water.. at least by choice.

I am also looking forward to the Eric Church concert I am going too next week. I love country music and he is one of my favorite artists so I was/ am SO excited that the tickets are only $20 and it is in Portland. It will be so much fun! I am also looking forward to the NBA finals game 7 which is TONIGHT as well. GO LAKERS. It is going to be an awesome game. The finals has been so much fun this year, because my mom has actually watched some of the games with me and I have been able to discuss them with her.  I am also looking forward to the 4th of July because it is rodeo time and I get to have a vacation at the best place in the world - the lakehouse!!

what i love about life(guarding)

I love my job! I really, really do! There are a lot of different reasons, but these are the main ones.
1. I love kids - as a lifeguard / swim instructor I spend a lot of time with kids of all ages. It is SO much fun! They always have the cutest expressions and just make my day so much better.
2. I get to answer phones - weird I know, but I have a thing for answering phones. I think it is so much fun to put on my "phone" voice and say " sheldon pool and fitness, this is jessica". It makes me giggle just thinking about it.Weird, I know!
3. Water aerobic ladies are the best - I guard water aerobics in the morning and it is awesome. They make the best food in the whole world and always bring some to share, and they are the best gossipers ever! They gossip about all sorts of things which makes sitting in the chair a lot of fun.
4. I smell like chlorine - actually that is one thing I dislike about my job. I always smell like chlorine :(
5. Swimsuits - I get to wear a swimsuit all day, everyday . Not going to lie, it is pretty awesome. Who doesn't love wearing a swimsuit all day especially in the summer!
6. Co-workers - Co-workers can make life hard or easy. Everyone I work with at the pool is really fun, and laidback. We all get along awesome which makes coming to work something I actually look forward to doing!
7. Patrons - It just so happens that every once in awhile I get the opportunity to talk to / interact with some incredibly attractive boys that come to lap swim or workout. Its probably bad because I end up watching the weight room instead of the lap swimmers, but hey cute boys are always a good thing!
