Grateful Sunday

Ok, So I have skipped a couple Sunday's but I am back on track!
1. I am grateful for loving parents who support me in everything I do. I have been super grateful for my parents this week. My dad is so sweet and sends me cute texts and calls to check up on me. I love him so much and it makes me feel so good to know he cares! I love talking with my mom and often wish i was majoring in that rather than real school!!
2. I am grateful for study guides! I know, its a silly thing to be thankful for, but seriously study guides are life savers. With all the midterms that I have had the last couple weeks, I could not have survived without study guides.
3. Umbrellas that keep me dry! Last week on the way home from church it poured, and i mean POURED!! I was soaking wet and all because we forgot an umbrella. Today we remembered and when we came out of church there was nothing but sun!
4. Cleaning checks. Okay - well I may not be very grateful for them before they happen, but I am after! Sometimes it feels so good to just clean and I can get it all out of my system when cleaning check time comes around.
5. Roommates who make life very enjoyable. I love my roommates, they are a blast to live with and can handle my spurts of craziness.
6. Religion Classes. One thing I love about BYU and am eternally grateful for is the opportunity to take religion classes. I am currently taking New Testament and Living Prophets and I love it! I have learned so much studying the prophets and apostles and I am going to miss it next semester.

Did someone say Thunder ?

I know its lame to do two blog posts in one day, but I haven't been on in awhile - so i'm going to do it anyway.

So it has been extremely hot here in Provo, especially for this time of year. Usually it is starting to get cold by now, but we are still enjoying 80 + degree weather. And as much as I would like it to cool down a little bit, I'm not sure I'm ready for it to go away. I was looking at the weather for this week and we are supposed to have thunderstorms... wait for it.. EVERY DAY! yikes - I absolutely love thunder and lightening storms, but I have a feeling it is going to be a loong week!

It was general conference this weekend and as always my mom and I went and visited the church distribution in the bottom of the Joseph Smith building in Salt Lake City. I always seem to find fun things in there :) This visit I found two! The first one I spotted was the new Personal Progress books for Young Women.
They are a lovely pink book with the Salt Lake Temple on the front, but that's not the reason  I picked one up. I finished my Personal Progress when I was 14, so it has been 5 years now that I have even looked at a book. This weekend I decided it would be a good idea to go through and do my Personal Progress again. This time I am going to take my time and really work to get the most out of all the activities. It is such a great program and I am really excited to do it again!

My second find was a mini New Testament. It looks just like the small paperback Book of Mormons, but it is the New Testament. I was super excited becuase I am taking New Testament this fall and I hate carrying my big scriptures on campus so I usually end up just reading on my phone, but I can't mark my scriptures or make notes in class that way. Now with my handy dandy mini New Testament I can!! I am really excited to be able to use it for the rest of the semester!

Grateful Sunday

So I got this idea from my wonderful sister-in-law Brenley who usually does this every Sunday. I have been wanting to do it for a while, but I have been too busy with school to really do anything but school! This weekend was General Conference weekend so I thought it would be a perfect place to start.

So here are some things I am grateful for this week :
1. An amazing mom and dad who constantly go above and beyond to help me out.
2. The opportunity to go to General Conference and listen to wonderful people speak such as the Prophet Thomas S. Monson and the Apostles.
3.  Extended Deadlines
4. Roommates / Housemates that make life tons of fun!
5. A very comfy bed that is always there when I need it.
6. The lovely season of Fall. It brings out so many beautiful colors and shows just how amazing of an artist Heavenly Father is.
7. Family blogs so I can see my adorable nieces and nephews grow and read the cute things they do and say!
8. Letters from Missionaries
9. Miniature ice creams from 7-eleven
10. Going to a university that is amazing on both a secular and especially a spiritual level.
